Uniting Communities for Public Education Excellence -- Alamance

Are you supportive of public education and want to engage with others in effective advocacy? The North Carolina Council of Churches and the Alamance Chapter of the NAACP Public Education Committees invites you to a program for dialogue and coalition building with Dr. David Campt, Principal consultant at the Dialogue Company.

This 2.5 hour training session will be based on a combination of education and interpersonal dialogue including these main points in the struggle for racial equity as it has played out in public education in North Carolina:

  • Classism vs racism - tools of the elite
  • Scarcity of resources - myth to crisis
  • Privatization - siphoning resources

The day will include:

  • Introductions and networking
  • Issue framing
  • Training in effective dialogue strategies
  • Concrete planning for next steps
